Identity Politics and the Politics of Social Change
Identity politics is no longer the sole domain of ideologues on the left it has predictably become a major force on the right too. Some even claim that identity politics is politics and always has been well that's another one of those trite rather lazy general statements, he says. The insights that stem from a critical reading of race or gender for example risk becoming mere caricatures to be ignored by those with less sympathy for identity politics rather than as a potential corrective if handled well.
