The Rise and Fall of Jefferson

In 1796, Jefferson lost the presidential election to John Adams. In 1800, he wins in probably the most vicious election we've ever had. He was an inventor of many things, as you probably know. But I think Jefferson also invented sort of the humble brag. And what makes the story of 1801 so fantastic is that Aaron Burr may be a better choice than Jefferson.
