The Advantages of a Redistributive Welfare State
When you have great big redistributive welfare states like that in Washington, what you get is a crowding out of that sector. People have fewer and fewer incentives to join these kinds of organizations. And so they basically die. So I've outsourced my compassion to the state. That's my contribution. Exactly. The thing that this redistributive system does have an edge over is if there is a funding gap, it can be obligatory.
