Economists, Social Scientists, and Other Experts
Economists do have a special place, a privileged place, inside of policy making circles in a way that other social scientists, like sociologists, and even political scientists don't. And so it really matters, you know, yes. But i think this goes to the whole debate we've been having about experts and their role in society. As a conventionally trained, rationally minded economist, i regret the er disdain for experts.
