There was a thing called a profane burial where if you had committed suicide that was a self murder and you weren't allowed to be buried in the churchyard. They used to put a stake through the part of the person they would hammer a stake through their hearts before burying them. There is a well-documented historical event in I say the early 19th century where a woman who had committed suicide was buried at the crossroads with her body being driven through her heart. It's one of those odd things there's anybody who's a fan of Wuthering Heights um the Bronte novel there's a few references in there that relate to the old suicide laws and profane burials including
