The Book of Esther Challenges Current Jewish Beliefs

The book of Esther is so different from most of what we get in the Bible that I think that has to be intentional. It's almost as if the book is telling you from the beginning, like, look, there's not history, right? Like we're reading something different here. The choice to not tell the story with any mention of God has to be a really deliberate move on the author's part. But then it's sort of like a whole bunch of observations that kept piling up that made me realize that the book is really doing something pretty dramatic.
