A lot of trauma recovery is being able to experience a felt sense. That would be how polyvagal comes in, certainly a huge piece of it. And into phase two internal family systems, let me tell you, if we're dealing with somebody with complex trauma, we are dealing with somebody that has dissociated parts inside and out. We have to make sure that we are standing with those parts especially the ones that are from the IFS perspective. The ones that do not want their vulnerable parts to come up because they don't know what else to do.
