When Trust Me, I'm lying came out in 2012 people who had known me for my writing were thinking like, what is this? This is who you are? So there was a little bit of that. And then the book came out and did well and I was much more well known for the marketing stuff. To me, it was more like the other thing had been a detour. so it was, we make up these narratives after the fact, but at this time I was really sort of pursuing all these things simultaneously.
