Amelio is a non profit, but it has a business model that isn't gear to ultimately being reliant on fund raising and donations. So for us it was important o profit from our motives, because we realized at the end of the day, the most profitable group to charge in this space is families and the incarcerated. It's very hard to fund raise, especially as a technile profit. I think kind of your typical foundations aren't used to soper solutions,. But yes, from da one, actually, we've been generating revenue. The very first state that we launch in iowa, we were break even from day one, leveraging their existing hardware, their cloud storage. so
When a tech nonprofit competes against a $2 billion incumbent dominating the market, its odds are slim. But Zo Orchingwa took that bet, founding Ameelio, believing that access to communication and education for the incarcerated is needed for their future success. Ameelio is on a quest to partner with every prison district in the country until one day, it scales enough to be redundant.
