In the 18th century in Jane Austen's time, you might as exactly that. You've got wheat, olives, sugar, which becomes huge in the Caribbean,. onions, citrus fruits from Spain, rice, coffee, peaches, pears, turnips, grapes. Those things are really important. Coloflowers, cabbages and radish and lettuce all did prosper very quickly. But there are others that don't grow quite as well. So it remains, white bread remains a luxury for example.
