De-Escalation of ABD

De-escalation is a hugely important step to ensure that what you're going to do next is actually required. It's part of a stepwise approach, a logical way forward in establishing whether or not we need to do other things outside of just talking a patient down. Not all patients will be at the severe end of the spectrum and indeed some agitated patients won't have ABD at all. And I think it's important as well to realize that de-escalations are continuous process and repeated attempts might be appropriate. This isn't like a one-time thing and say, oh, well, de-escalation failed. Let's just move on to the next thing.
