The Importance of Metaphors in Learning

So much of our thinking is analogical. If someone has nothing in their experience to relate it to, they literally cannot understand it. And that's where I think metaphors come into play. When you get down to it, a computer is just ones and zeros and a bunch of pixels. So these are all illusions that we create so that people can understand computers.
