What Happens When Lead Acetate Is So Heavy That It Will Not Fly Up?
Lead is so heavy that generally, while you 're heating the flask, it won't fly up. So at the end of a pyrolutic distillation, what you have in the boiling flask is mostly lead which was too heavy to fly up and go over the still head. The magnetic links between those atoms become strong enough again that the atoms can snap back together. And when they do that, they always form the same kinds of substances - asotone and fenols.
