The idea should really be in, in my mind about harm reduction. First of all, trying to figure out why the patient really wants to leave. Maybe it's their board, but maybe there's actually an important reason that you can talk to them about. Having them sign something is just a power play oftentimes by the doctor. It doesn't end up helping the patient or those caring for them at all.
