Is It Time for Our Obsessions of the Week?
Duke volleyball player Rachel Richardson came forward and said she was racially heckled during a match at BYU. Her tweet became the subject of national news; CNN, NPR, Washington Post all reported on it. But there was no video evidence to back up her claim that she was called a racial slur every time she served. The most interesting thing when I went to read these stories is that every national news outlet relied on the say so of the student who made this allegation.
