When American Idol first started happening and there was a concept of you could go audition and be from anywhere, that changed the paradigm for me. I think that's why I latched on to Kelly so much is because I genuinely felt like she came from nowhere and got to become a star just from being talented and being herself and etc. So when it didn't happen I was like oh yeah that seems right somehow. That answer speaks to this thing that I think we all probably felt as children. Did you guys have that when you were a kid like in any way?
