The reason why some languages get so straight to the point is because in the Northern Hemisphere, they don't have time to mess around. As you get closer and closer to the equator, all around the world, things seem to slow down a little bit. And this extends to language, which is what Tim was saying as well. There's a theory that one of the reasons life seems to slow down when you go to these tropical destinations is because there wasn't the same pressure to be as rigid with their sinusily rigidness. This is called quality. I think a lot of that has to do with the way that their language is structured.
