The Value of Design - Unreleaved Regulation
This is maybe the longest chapter in the book. It contains a number of plates, which I find really interesting. These are always useful because it's a picture of an object and then a deep and thorough explanation of what he wants us to see. And so one of the plates is kind of his idea of basically unreleaved regulation. He shows this apparatus in a clinical setting, as he'd call it, he does call it clinical. But if you're going to make a bigger building or a city or a civilization like this, or a home exactly, right? "It will come to seem infuriatingly vacuous," he says.
