Taxation has been perhaps the most powerful tool, some might say weapon, that a government or crown can wield. The earliest records of tax avoidance go back to the 7th century BCE in Egypt. In 17th century England there was a tax based on how many windows a house had. President Biden has called for Congress to pass a 25% tax on households worth more than $100 million.
