Anxiety Isn't About the Loss of the Object, but Its Presence
The most anguishing thing for the infant is precisely the moment when the relationship upon which he's established himself. Of the lack that turns him into desire is disrupted. And this relationship is most disrupted when there's no possibility of any lack. This is one model of demand, of the demand that will never let up. I'm damn impressed. We got through a lot of this tonight. Like most starts, this one requires a little bit more from me.
