Finding the Constraint in the Organization
Tame flow originated with pattern languages and pattern theory. All my thinking has been done in terms of patterns. If you are able to find the constraint in the organization, you get one single focal point around which all minds, all energies, all activities can converge. And therefore the lever is enormous. It's not an 80 20 pareto, but it's like a one nine thousand 999. The effect you get by acting on the constraint is just outstanding.
