The Importance of Humility in Conversation
I think Plato in general provokes strong responses in people and there's an endless number of readings just as we were saying there's always something beyond the text. It seems to me that Socrates who's often credited with this kind of humility because he's always saying that he knows nothing is also committed to conversation or illumination. He does describe why he's unwilling to leave writing and one of the issues is that he feels that text is no longer responsive to a listener.
