Sally Kohn: How is it possible that someone can evaluate the evidence here in the way that Eric Smith does after, you know, Chad and Julie's prophecies have not come true? John Avlon: I think people filter information through their beliefs, through their worldviews. And if their worldviews are strong and extreme, it's unlikely they're going to change that. The two biggest elements in terms of getting people on board with conspiracies are fear and uncertainty.
