The Social Aspects of Language in Schools
In a situation where the teacher may not have access to the language of the students that creates some kind of a sense of weakness in the teacher. There are cases where I think I've seen in, you know, news stories and stuff where individual teachers will stop children from speaking Spanish or other minority languages. And sometimes those sorts of ask, those sorts of kind of social aspects of language can play into kind of the informal policies that get practiced in school.
