Is Bioethesis a Good Idea?

How do we persuade folks that there is a greater risk due to increasingly powerful technology? Could truly even be existential, whether due to extinction or just causing us to fall such that we can never rise. I mean, it's none of those has ever happened before. But reasoning from first principles, we can see they all appear quite plausible. It's just lots of people don't accept that as valid logic.
