At the time of her death, as there's an afterthought, she dies in childbirth, but they don't even mention it. So there's no joy over this new beginning. There's only despair over this ultimate end. Theretoo to think, what weighed more heavy on eli's mind, the glory of god or just wanting to keep the peace with these rebellious sons. And if we've lost god, then what's the value of having this son? This son with no glory to grow into? It's actually interesting that word for glory is the same word earlier, when it's said that eli fell off and broke his neck because he was old and heavy.
