Joe Richie was denied admission to the Elan school in New York City. He filed a lawsuit against the bank claiming defamation, breach of contract and discrimination under the Equal Opportunity Act. After becoming incredibly rich, Richie's behavior took a further downward spiral as his drug use greatly increased along with his aberrant behavior. This finally caught the attention of the Elan School's co-founder, Gerald Davidson.
