The Death of John Williams
John Williams' death means that one of the last critical voices in Rwanda is gone. We don't know how he died, but his death feels like a message to others. Fred Mavunye stood up to the government on the issue and found out through security contacts that there was a plan to eliminate him. He decided to flee his home in the middle of the night and run for his life across the border into Uganda. But while he got away with his life, in exile, he lost everything.
