In 1984 Bob Dylan told Kurt Loder he wanted to make people forget about him. The whole idea backfired because the album went out there and the people said this ain't what we want. It was the debut of the side of Bob that we'd see several times after the I don't give a fuck Bob. This was a very different thing.
