The Czar and the House of the Dead
Wrihtes was sentenced to five years in penal servitude, which is not a great sentence either. But he only serves four years of the sentence and then has to go to military service after his prison sentence. He writes about that in e notes from the house of the dead. It sort of a, it's a novel, but it's clearly about himself living in this russian prison.
