We sometimes take the existing laws as being reflective of the state of the world and they actually aren't. The law will say one thing and the reality will be very different so these two examples are there to show that this is a common phenomenon in developing worlds. i think there is this kind of a commonality in literatures across different domains which reveals something very deep deep about the nature of developing countries, he says.
