When you talk about consciousness, or not whatever word you use, knowledge, there is riti gana and sarupa gana. Any thought, any memory, any perception, any idea, any feeling, all of that is writtyit just a movement in the mind. And each ritty has a content. These are called britigana. All of this is lit up, shining in. It is the reflected consciousness in that riti that is called chirabhas. Reflected consciousness, reflected avaleness. Sarup pear, consciousness. Repeating again. This is the whole issue where consciousness studies is stuck.
Inspired by the 15th chapter of the Ashtavakra Gita, Swami Sarvapriyananda gives a discourse on the nature of the Self.
