The Power of Trust

Psychologist Tim Levine says that human beings are terrible at detecting deception. He argues that evolution does not select for the ability to technicalise it, selects for the opposite. We trust implicitly believe what they're told and if you do that your life is so much easier. But there's a cost: we will occasionally be deceived by someone who wants to scam us out of money.
