The Government Wants to Encourage Farming
The US is one of the few countries where natural resources are owned privately. The government gives tax incentives to do that just like, you know, drilling for oil. They also give us tax incentives for clean energy. And they want to encourage farming and ranching because they want people to have enough food in their bellies.
