The Last Time We Had Inflation That High Was the Carter Years
Inflation in December was 6.5%. The last time we had inflation that high was Carter years, it was 1982 actually. Since 1950, we've only had three periods of deflation that have lasted for a year. In short, prices aren't coming back down to where they were before.
