The State Department Approves $619 Million Arms Sale for Taiwan
The State Department approves a $619 million arms sale for Taiwan. The US has always sold weapons to Taiwan since 1979, that year they officially severed diplomatic relations with Taipei. China is strongly opposed to these arms sales and they denounce this latest deal. A House bill would allow the US to lend or lease weapons to Taiwan.
