Once we came up with a mechanical and or chemical substitute for draft power, suddenly those ancient rotations that it made destruction of the land slower in agriculture now was able to speed it up much more rapidly. So there's a farmer who does gardening work. I haven't met him but I read his book Jean-Martin Fotier. Yes, he is fantastic. One is he tries to do as little tillage as possible. If there's one thing that destroys the soil faster than anything it's Tillage.
