Mike Tashira really birthed bottoms-up or reactive training to a very objective world which is strength training and powerlifting. He was like, we need some sort of subjective scaling to see how does it actually feel to the human that's undergoing this process? Is it actually hard enough? And then ultimately the RPE scale got sort of turned into this RIR scale. It's just trying to build this like bottom-up strategy to manage an individual at an individual level,. Then we come and oppose that idea withlike a top-down strategy. We collect data and modify and meet them where they're at.
