Is There a Dematerialization of the Economy?
The dematerialization of the economy means that there's much more leveraging up of brainpower to accomplish things and workers simply are needed to do a lot of the things that they did before. The segmentation across firms of different activities where you have a concentration of the most valuable stuff in these companies like Facebook which end up capturing kind of an outside share of the wealth in society. Part of what we're seeing that is exacerbating this underlying technological change is people retreating into into smaller and smaller communities in order to capture more of the sort of value that's being produced in the economy can you help us understand why?
