Ted was invited to a dinner before the oscars for the departed and it was a big table like yeah better 12 people but marty was gonna be there. Ted said he wanted to impress barns corsese because i know old  movies and of everyone i know i'm the martin scorsese of every of everyone I know. The two had worked together on "Wall Street" with director phil eastwood, who has since passed away. He says that his experiences were very different from other directors' in terms of how they dealt with Eastwood's death.
