Women are more likely to die from a heart attack than men. When it comes to medical data on women, the data is pretty non existent. The systematic under diagnosis of women already leads to a perception among human s that women don't have heart attacks. But what about an algorithm trained on a data set riddled with these missed heart attacks? Now when an algartum learns, it, if they want to sort of scale doctors, they'll just magnify what happened in the exist setting. And so i think that kind of acknowledgment of the existing system being inequitable, and that scaling that blindly would be bad, is incredibly important.
