CHAPTER

How Simple Rules Distinguish Information

Simple rules can often do better in terms of actual prediction. The author talks about how some huristics and biases actually work. He gives the example of milwaukee and detroit. If you ask just randon people, essentially in the us, which one is the larger city, then you get a certain number of people guessing correctly. But if you ask the same thing in germany, then you actually get a higher rate of correct answers than in the us. So this is something that actually works better because of, in this case, the germans higher level of ignorance than the ame ans about american cities.
