The Fear of Giving a Kidney to a Stranger
Metropolitan Police Detective Sergeant Andy Owen spent the last year working on this case. He attended a contrived meeting with the prospective donor and her family. Even then he was treated as a commodity, only invited up to where the family were just to take a photo. Over the next few days, Daniel was taken to meetings with medical consultants at the private patients unit at London's Royal Free Hospital. To have a living organ transplant approved, the donor has to go through a series of medical tests and interviews with them.
