What We Call Poetry Is Discontinuity
Bloom takes the word kiddosys from saint paul who meant it as a humbling or an emptying out of jesus by himself and therefore having his status drop from divine to human so Bloom tells us that most of what we call poetry is discontinuity a promethean questing for fire. The poet has a prometheus inside them a rebellious side that tries to steal fire from the gods repetition however according to Bloom belongs to the watery shore where the poet was thrown and if they remain there if they repeat what their precursor did then they will never be great, says Bloom.
