Locke's Theorem of Private Property in Contemporary Capitalism
John Locke was an early, maybe the first, theorist of private property. He argued that what was common becomes private when a person mixes their labor with nature. The idea has been important ever since to legitimating not only property rights, but also settler colonialism from north america to israel.
