Emperor woo sat on the imperial throne for 54 years, a record that would remain unbroken in china for nearly two millennia. He founded an imperial university to train young scholars and even developed an organization known as the imperial music bureau. But all this would be useless if he couldn't solve the problem of the shong no threat. Woo's plan was to lure the ruling shan yu south with his army and into a carefully laid trap. The han empire would no longer cower behind its walls. Instead, it would confront the shongnu head on.
