If countries turned away from gas because there was a shortage, and they used coal in the meantime, how bad would that be for the climate? So i thinkt i mean bad, iis the brief answer. If all the gas russia supplies to europe was replaced by coal, it would add hundreds of millions of tons of omissions to our atmosphere. It makes you think, come on, was a greener alternative really not available? Isn't this the moment that renewables step in and save the day?
