Is the Hartland Institute a Front Group for an Industry?
There's no direct evidence we can find that points to a corporate actor doing the hack itself, says michael mann. The question is who used these emales as a basis for a massive p r campaign? A collection of american lobby groups and think tanks made use of the emales. These groups don't say, we are actually front groups for an industry, which is what they really are. They don't disclose where their money's coming from. It's fair to say that james taylor took a close interest in the hacked emales. He said: "I certainly wouldn't consider it a gift"
