Do Emotions Play a Role in Attitude Moralization

There's much clearer evidence that emotions have the power to moralize than there is evidence, for example, that recognition of harm can moralize. In one study, participants were exposed to a number of disgust relevant stimuli and only exposure to aborted fetus pictures moved their attitudes towards abortion. A mediational analysis revealed that it was just perceptions of disgust and not anger which led to attitude moralization in that study.
