China's Strategic Commitment to the Middle East

China typically gets between 40 and 50 percent of its crude oil from the Middle East, mostly from the Gulf. China's among the top five sources of imports for almost every country in the Mideast. For Beijing, I assume this is considered a threat as the U.S. starts to engage more deeply in its region.
